Its final hour came in 2009. After just eight years of
production and exactly 153,026 vehicles, General Motors ceased production of
the HUMMER H2. The entire brand was interred with it.
In his latest
204-page book HUMMER H2 KING SIZE AMERICA!
German car journalist Hans-Jürgen Tücherer looks back on the
eventful history of the spectacular US off-roader. He relates many entertaining
and amusing stories such as its origin as the HMMWV military vehicle or its
painful delivery in the GM Group before the start of production in 2002. The
English translation is the work of Jürgen Hödel, a German
professional translator living in the USA.
The 18 chapters and more
than 200 mesmerizing photos from many unusual angles document the host of
interesting details to be found on the H2 SUV and SUT production cars. What is
more: The photobook also features exotic variations on the subject of the H2
such as the 700hp H2 7.0 Kompressor Hummer with a top speed in excess of 250
km/h from German refinement specialist geigercars.de. Or the equally unusual
HUMMER H2 patrol vehicle of a US sheriff and Santas official company car.
Or a stretch limo based on this off-roader and a HUMMER SUV with gull-wing
doors and gigantic 30-inch chrome wheels.
The HUMMER H2
KING SIZE AMERICA!photobook measures 30.2 x 21.5 cm (11.8 x
